Mebane Community Garden

The Mebane Women’s Club (www.mebanewc.com) is committed to sustainable projects that make a positive difference in the lives of the Mebane community. The latest community improvement initiative, the Mebane Community Garden, launched in December of 2007.  Plots are rented year-round for a fee of $40 for large (16X4) and $25 for the small (8X4). The nominal fee supports the garden (insurance costs, general maintenance, educational programs, etc.). We encourage individuals, schools, companies, everyone to take part!  Donations are accepted throughout the year. Our wish list includes:

• compost, manure, mulch, and soil amendments
• bulbs and perennials
• vegetable and flower seeds
• building supplies 
• tools
• monetary donations

In 2010, we plan to edge our garden beds with a more durable wooden barrier.  If you are interesting in donating materials to that improvement, please let us know.  In general, if you’d like to make a donation, please contact Rebecca at mebane.garden@gmail.com.  We welcome gently used untreated materials.
